Despite the unpredictability of a post-pandemic economy, there has been NO municipal tax increase for the last 5 years. Mayor Gary Catrambone continues to work diligently and meticulously in preparing each annual budget to ensure that the Council passes a budget that Delran continues to be stable.
Stabilizing taxes has been our priority for 15 years. As the cost of living continues to rise, one thing Delran residents have been able to count on was that their municipal taxes would remain stable. Our municipal tax rate has remained within 1% of the rate it was 15 years ago.
During the pandemic, local businesses were forced to close or operate at limited capacity, resulting in a loss of some tax revenue. However, due to our preparation and diligence, Delran residents did not see a huge tax increase, unlike other towns.
When the cost of Municipal Solid Waste disposal increased dramatically, Delran residents were not burdened with a huge tax increase to cover it.
When natural disasters affect Delran due to storms, tornadoes and flooding issues; all of which result in significant costs in overtime to pay our public works employees and police, Delran residents can rest assured that their municipal taxes would remain stable and those services would be provided at all times.
We look forward to continuing to maintain or increase the quality of services in Delran as we maintain tax stability for future generations.
