In addition to preserving Open Space, providing locations for our residents to enjoy outdoor recreational activities is also vital to the future of Delran. During the pandemic, outdoor activities became even more vital for physical and mental health.
Our team has been diligent for decades, working closely with state and county officials to look for grants and other opportunities to improve our parks and fields. With careful planning, we were able to create Delran Community Park and open the first all-access playground in the county, Jake’s Place, for all of our children to enjoy.
We have also restored and renovated Friendship Park and Leon Field, upgraded the equipment at Conrow Park, and are in the last stages of revitalizing the Brown Street Park.
We have joined the Green Team and the VFW to clean up and restore one of the most valuable natural resources, Swedes Lake/Lake Lonnie, and have been working to restore the walking trails and beach at Lake Lonnie.
Additionally, we worked with the Delran AA, and the RAC to create a Field’s Committee to oversee the usage and upgrading of all of our ball and soccer fields so that our children can play and practice safely with proper lighting in a clean environment.
We were also fortunate to receive the State of NJ 2022 Bikeway Grant. The Delran Community Park Bike Path Improvement grant for $1,207,000.00, will allow easier access between Delran Community Park and the Notre Dame fields complex once completed.
We look forward to continuing to look for new and innovative ways to expand and maintain the quality of our parks and fields.
